Pêra Rocha (Rocha Pear) is an autochthonous Portuguese variety of pear. The origin of the variety Rocha reports to 1836, in Sintra's municipality. This variety was casually obtained from a seed, in Mr. Pedro António Rocha's farm, whose family name inspired variety name. Pêra Rocha is produced in several places in Portugal. The production area is over 100 km² and there are about 9,450 producers.
